JUNE: I'M FEELING INSPIRED

It's been an odd month of transition and new beginnings. I have finally finished sixth form and all my exams are done! I've also started a new job as a barmaid which started out as terrifying but I am now having so much fun and am really happy. While changes are tough, I'm encouraged by my positive steps and choices, and excited about the endless possibilities ahead of me. XOXO

MOLLY JEGGINGS

Buying jeans is hard. I've not owned a pair in about three years because of the stress it causes me to even attempt to find a good fit. Having spent far too long looking for the 'perfect jeans' (conclusion - they do NOT exist), I tried a pair of Molly Jeggings from River Island and was overwhelmed with how great they are.

LIGHT WASH (LINK HERE) -  £35
MID WASH REFORM (LINK HERE) - £40

I've had my hesitations with jeggings in the past because I've seen lots of types which look and feel nothing like jeans. I can assure you that these jeggings are both very jean-like but also have the desired comfort factor of leggings. They are incredibly soft and the slightly elasticated fabric means that they fit great. They give you the choice of short, regular or long leg length too which meant that overall the jeggings fit perfectly. They also have buttons, zippers, belt loops and back pockets, which means they look and function just like jeans.

I first bought them in the light wash (I wrote a post featuring them here) and because I was so happy with the fit and appearance I ordered them again in mid wash 'reform' and am so pleased with them. They do these in so many different shades and colours so I'll be stocking up on loads more soon! XOXO

MAN OF STEEL

I went to see Man of Steel with my dad and older brother yesterday and felt like writing a little bit of a review about it, so enjoy! I love a good superhero movie. Superman however, while maybe the most iconic of all the heroes, is probably the one franchise that I've never quite gotten into. With the new movie looking so impressive and creating so much hype, I thought this was the perfect time to try to see what all the fuss is about.

CARDIGAN & TEE - TOPSHOP

First things first, if there is only one reason that you decide to see this film, it may as well be for the impressive specimen that is Henry Cavill, who plays Superman himself. I mean, he looks pretty amazing and on a completely superficial and shallow level, is a pretty good excuse to enjoy this movie. Of course I should also say that he is actually a really great actor and I think he was so good in the role of Superman. But seriously, he's really hot you guys (:. I also loved Amy Adams. She was so well-suited to the character of Lois Lane, making her strong and witty.

I had read a few things online about some people's negative feedback on the movie, with a surprising amount of people saying that it wasn't fun or funny enough. To avoid disappointment I think people just need to lose the expectations of what the movie will be and take it for what it is. If you compare it to lighter movies like the Avengers for example, then naturally you'll be left let down.

The movie is far more serious and drama-based than many of the recent superhero movies that audiences are used to (e.g. Iron Man, Avengers..). The movie, while still being full of typical action and battle scenes, had lots of moments focusing on the characters and relationships in a real and human way. I really enjoyed that aspect as it gave the movie more depth than other superhero movies I've seen, and made the characters seem more three-dimensional. The relationship between Clark Kent and his human dad was particularly emotive and even made me well-up a little. My only criticism is that the second half of the film is SO fight based that you kind of lose the story and feel like it drags on a little. Overall, this movie is dramatic and suspenseful and epic, and I really enjoyed it. XOXO

CAMOUFLAGE

This is just a casual outfit I wore on Friday to visit my half-brothers. I wore some new stuff that I bought a couple of days ago when I went into town.

HAT - TOPSHOP, TEE - TOPSHOP, JEGGINGS - RIVER ISLAND, SHOES - NEW LOOK

I've wanted a fedora for ages but was worried that I would look silly wearing one. When I was in Topshop I just grabbed it & tried it on and really loved it. I don't know whether it looks good on me or not but who cares really?! I feel like I want to wear it with everything and it is such a simple accessory to transform a casual day look. I also picked up some jeggings from River Island which are one of the best things I've bought in a long time. They are super comfy and amazing, but I'll be doing a separate post on them soon if you want to know more. Finally, I thought it was only appropriate that I wore this camouflage tee that I got from Topshop recently, since my brothers are really into the army and stuff like that. Sure enough, my 10 year old brother wanted to know where I got it from. XOXO
